The critique group felt as a whole that my designs worked well because they fulfilled the brief by showing the word given (occupation) by portraying it in a different sense than the first meaning which is a livelihood. They expressed their opinions on my letterforms and agreed that my E and F letterform portrayed occupation more clearly than the other letterforms.
However they also mentioned that I could of looked at the idea of changing the kerning of the letterforms to create a more subtle interpretation of occupation of space for body copy text rather than header letterforms. Other points for me to improve on would be to gain more confidence when speaking within the critique and to explain my ideas more clearly. This means that for my next critique and will create smaller design boards to help me explain my thought process. For the next brief (2) it involves creating a full alphabet set of one of these letterforms digitally rather than hand rendered, the critique group expressed their interest in me creating the letter I (three dimensions) into an alphabet set, however I also feel that I want to experiment with the letter C that I created.
