Responsive Collaboration:
Melissa Morris & Rebecca Kelly
I have chosen to work with Rebecca because we previously worked as partners for the PPP module in the brief 'Taking care of business'. We work quite well together in terms of personality as we are focused but also our graphic design styles and the design we enjoy is similar in some respects but we are completely different which will be interesting to work with.
Before completely deciding we were going to work together we looked over the briefs and we seemed to like similar work as we didn't want to create logo's or branding for companies who ethically don't follow our own beliefs. We were interested in similar briefs on YCN.
I believe in terms of design skills I offer a more arty/creative attitude and style to design. Whereas Rebecca is skilled with typography, grids and layout. This is something I am not necessarily currently strong with, but by working with her this should improve my own knowledge. My design skills tend to lie more with colour, researching and illustration.
There are only two of so the collaboration will depend on the brief we undertake, this also applies to what we decide on together. But initially we will research individually and present our research and ideas to each other and work on a collaboration of these ideas.
