OUGD404: Type Journal

Transitional typefaces such as Helvetica are known for their upright form, they are sans serif and are incredibly minimalistic. This therefore impacts its usage as a highly readable/ legible font, it was initially used in the underground but its impact then influenced its usage into Apple and other incredibly famous brands/ platforms.

Many brands have used Helvetica for their logos and some of which include American Apparel, Jeep, British Gas, Skype, Olympus and The North Face. Although there are many uses of Helvetica as the news report has stated it "conquered the world" of type as a standardly good typeface to use in terms of its functionality, legibility and readability due to its simplistic form.
