OUGD406: Origami Presentation

We began making notes on what we wanted to portray about Folded within our presentation before creating the slides:

Feedback:

Overall the feedback was incredibly positive and it was expressed that our idea as a whole was incredibly strong in terms of learning a new skill. There was also feedback that the idea of the exhibition and the considerations and attention to detail including considering price and printing costs were good organisational skills. When we were first considering the packs and exhibition we discussed having coloured paper or consistent white stock, to continue with the theme of clean and crisp we decided upon white stock within the packs. However we gained some helpful feedback from Beth and Chris from the third year who stated we should allow people to decorate the papers or use their own stock as an exhibition should allow people to express their own creativity with little obstructions. I fully agree with this idea and we have considered putting patterned and painted papers behind the cut outs of the poster.

In terms of social networking we also seem to be getting quite a positive response online as well as in person in terms of those who want to be involved, many people from LCA have expressed their want to be involved.

We have already gained a few responses online through twitter where people have tagged #folded.

On our Facebook page have gained larger numbers of likes in a short amount of time which is quite promising.

Tasks that need to be completed: update social network with our names and information, edit the poster and perfect the illustrator vectors, complete the A5 instruction packs, revisit the hot dog folded booklet and typeset the paragraphs correctly and perfect the composition of the page layouts. We also need to create some more instructions further than just the crane, flapping bird, dove and swan. Materials need to be printed and envelopes/ origami paper purchased also.

We have decided that the exhibition will take place on Monday 24th March. With a deadline of 21st March. As it is interview next week we will put a poster up and a collection box with a small amount of packs. This means that we will fully promote the exhibition on the 17th (Monday).

I will look at an origami booklet and pick out some instructions which could be shared online. Ive found that creating these has been quite challenging as I am not extremely skilled with illustrator.
