A few days prior to the exhibition event the group as a whole felt that the response was not quite as positive as first hoped for due to a smaller amount of submissions than initially expected, therefore to ensure that there were enough pieces the group worked incredibly hard making a few of there own to fill the hanging space within the graphic design studio.
Unfortunately I couldn't take part in the end of this brief (exhibition) because I was in hospital. However the group worked really hard overnight to hang all of the origami onto the fish wire and string.
The exhibition took place on Monday 24th of March as stated on the posters and within the health and safety permissions. The group arrived early to hang all of the origami up in time for the exhibition and I was sent photos on how it all turned out. Overall the responses were really positive from the class but also the university as a whole, they even retweeted our images onto the LCABAGD twitter feed and also the official university twitter too.
Overall I actually really enjoyed working in a group, it gave me the opportunity to talk to people in the class that I wouldn't normally which was really good because since then I have been trying to talk to others who are not in my immediate friends group. As a group we did encounter several problems which included the punctuality of some of the members of the group at certain times because of one reason or another- but this meant that work did take longer. There was also the problem with my absence due to hospital and the group struggled putting up all the origami without me, however several members of the class helped them which was incredibly kind of them. Perhaps the project didn't go as well as we had hoped because the group did spend a long time making origami to make up for the number of submissions which unfortunately were not handed in. I personally think was due to having an a week "off" after the final crit and before the exhibition and people simply forgot about it- perhaps this could have been improved with a stronger presence online.
