I was initially drawn towards a brief on arts thread in conduction with Mamas & Papas however I saw that in the mandatory requirements they wanted specific material samples and therefore would be too complicated for what I am used to creating although the opportunity to be able to create prints for the stroller would have been amazing I don't think I want to pursue this idea as I am not too sure on materials and trims.
However I found through looking at a range of other websites provided and one of my own I wanted to create a book cover design as one of my briefs. I came across a brief by the folio society that would have been amazing to create but there is a cost to enter so I am not sure I want to pay for competitions yet until I am more comfortable and confident in my design work. I saw that penguin have a competition of three different covers to design and wanted to look into each of them as this competition is aimed at students and is entirely free.

The children's book appeals to me most as I know this is an award winning book which is a classic and has been taught in secondary schools. The current design doesn't do it justice and appears quite plain and uninteresting and as a children's book the cover should be intriguing and exciting. Book cover design is definitely a form of design that I would like to pursue even after this course as I have always had an interest in books and comics.
